What you may notice
Signs to look for.
- Round, smooth patches where hair has fallen out
- Sudden loss over a few weeks, or loss from eyebrows or lashes
- Hair loss during or after chemotherapy or radiation
- Patches with redness, scarring or pain
Sudden or patchy hair loss is worth discussing with your physician. CRLAB does not diagnose medical conditions.
What may be behind it
Multiple factors can contribute.
- Androgenetic alopecia: pattern hair loss linked to genetics and hormones
- Alopecia areata: autoimmune hair loss, often in patches
- Alopecia totalis: complete loss of hair on the scalp
- Chemotherapy-induced hair loss
- Radiation-induced hair loss
- Lichen planopilaris (LPP / FFA): inflammatory conditions that can scar the follicle, including frontal fibrosing alopecia
- Scarring alopecia: hair loss where follicles are permanently damaged
- Trichotillomania: hair loss from repeated hair pulling
CNC® may be considered by men and women with partial or significant hair loss. When medical care is involved, we collaborate with your physician.
