Frequently asked questions
Clear answers before your first visit.
Consultations, CNC®, TricoTest®, programs, products and insurance. If you don't find your answer, we're happy to help by phone.
Getting started
Do I need a consultation first?
Yes. We recommend beginning with a private consultation so our team can understand your concerns, history and goals before recommending a next step.
Is CRLAB only for severe hair loss?
No. We work with clients at every stage, from early thinning to significant or advanced hair loss.
Do you work with women and men?
Yes, with both women and men.
Do you help with alopecia?
Yes. We work with many forms of alopecia, and when medical care is involved we collaborate with your physician.
What happens during the first visit?
A private, one-on-one consultation. A specialist listens to your concerns, reviews your history and helps determine the best next step — which may be a TricoTest® analysis, a CNC® consultation, a Hair & Scalp Wellness program or product guidance.
CNC® custom cranial prosthesis
How is CNC® different from a traditional hair system?
CNC® is a custom-fitted, non-surgical cranial prosthesis, individually designed and made in Italy for each client rather than chosen off the shelf.
Who is CNC® for?
Men and women with significant, advanced or medically related hair loss. Your specialist will help you understand whether it is right for you.
How natural does CNC® look?
Each CNC® is designed around your hair color, density, texture, skin tone and style for a natural, sophisticated result.
Can I swim, shower or exercise?
CNC® is designed to support an active lifestyle, including swimming and exercise. Your specialist will explain care and maintenance at your consultation.
How long does it take?
About three months from consultation to application, while your CNC® is individually made in Italy.
How often do I need maintenance?
Typically every four to six weeks, personalized to each client.
What happens during a maintenance visit?
Your specialist removes the CNC®, treats your scalp and hair, cleans and sanitizes the CNC® with a dedicated hygiene process, and reapplies it with care.
TricoTest® Analysis & Hair & Scalp Wellness
What is TricoTest®?
A private, one-on-one evaluation combining guided discovery, hands-on assessment and professional microcamera imaging of your scalp and hair.
Is TricoTest® required before a program?
Yes. It lets your specialist recommend the most appropriate focus area.
What do programs address?
Concerns such as excess oil, dryness, buildup, irritation, thinning or scalp discomfort, through three focus areas: Oil Balance, Moisture & Comfort, and Hair Loss Support.
How often are appointments?
Typically every two weeks, supported by your home-care routine between visits.
Can a program help with thinning hair?
We offer programs for thinning and shedding concerns. Results vary by individual, and your specialist will discuss realistic expectations.
How should I prepare for TricoTest®?
Please avoid shampooing or applying styling or cosmetic products before your appointment.
CRLAB products
Do you sell CRLAB products?
Yes, a range of professional CRLAB home-care products for daily hair and scalp care.
Are recommendations personalized?
Yes. We recommend products based on your scalp condition, hair needs, lifestyle and goals.
Are CRLAB products made in Italy?
Yes. They are made in Italy and developed with the health of the scalp as the primary focus.
Booking, cost & insurance
How do I book?
Book online or call (949) 446-4949.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We see clients by appointment, so every visit is private and unhurried.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on the consultation or service. Pricing is shared by phone or through our booking system.
Do you offer insurance assistance?
For clients whose cranial prosthesis has been prescribed by a physician for medically related hair loss, we offer a complimentary insurance benefits check.
Is insurance coverage guaranteed?
No. Coverage depends on each client's individual policy, and reimbursement cannot be guaranteed. Our team can help you understand the process.
